In our modern world, noise is everywhere. We are surrounded by screens, schedules, endless notifications, and the pressures of daily life. Peace has become a luxury, and finding a place where our faith and our families can breathe deeply is increasingly rare.
That is why St. John Camp is a spiritual necessity.
St. John Camp offers something the world cannot provide: quiet, relaxation, and profound spiritual renewal. It is an oasis where the noise of the world fades, allowing the voice of God and the beauty of His creation to be heard.
Each summer when we gather at St. John Camp, we are doing more than taking a vacation. We have been building a living, breathing Orthodox community. But we can not continue and grow without your support.
A sanctuary of solitude and peace: In the quiet of nature, away from the digital tether of modern life, both adults and children can decompress. It is a rare chance to reset our minds and bodies in a truly restful environment.
Spiritual Renewal: Surrounded by the beauty of the creation, our daily rhythm is anchored by Church services and prayer. Faith is lived naturally from sunrise to sunset.
Generational Continuity: It is here where children can see the adults in their prayer, the teens can spend time with the young adults and the older generations alike, unafraid of sharing their thoughts and aspirations. The camp secures a sense of Orthodox identity they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
What happens if we lose this?
Without St. John’s Camp, this unique opportunity vanishes. There is no substitute - no camp, no family vacation - that offers this blend of physical relaxation, fellowship, and Orthodox spiritual nourishment. If we do not preserve this space, our families lose a vital refuge. There is no other Orthodox camp in the Pacific North West. We lose the chance to unplug, commune with one another, and give our children this experience of the faith.
We know that raising a family today is incredibly demanding, and with the cost of living continually rising, we are deeply committed to making sure St. John’s Camp remains affordable for all of our families. To keep attendee costs as low as possible, we rely on our own storage and transportation, seek out food donations, and utilize payment systems with the lowest possible fees. Most importantly, the camp runs entirely on the love and dedication of our volunteers - who manage, organize, cook, and clean, so that families don't have to bear the burden of high administrative or staffing costs. We put in this relentless effort behind the scenes because we believe no family should ever be priced out of this essential spiritual experience.
We need your help to ensure that St. John Camp remains a vibrant, welcoming sanctuary for years to come. Your generous contribution today is not just a donation to a facility; it is an investment in the spiritual health of our families, the joy of our children, and the future of our Orthodox community.
Please give generously, so that the peace of St. John Camp can continue to be a blessing for us all.
