When you arrive, check in at the main lodge entrance with the registrar.
Accommodation & Meals:
Cabins: Families selecting cabins will be assigned one at check-in. If you have not already, please let us know at check-in if you have physical limitations or medical needs.
Tenting: Choose your tent location, but be aware that you'll need no-peg anchors due to facility rules.
Meals: Meals are a shared experience! We have a professional cook, but everyone helps with set-up, serving, and clean-up. More information about this will be provided at camp. Please plan on signing up for different duties every day.
Special Diets: The camp will be following the new calendar, which will be in a non-fasting period, except normal Wednesday and Friday fasts. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, email us at registrar@stjohncamp.org with details and your attendance dates. We'll do our best to accommodate you and welcome coolers for labeled special items.
Technology & Dress:
There is a limited cell phone reception. Children may not use devices with screens in public areas, but cellphones may be used to take pictures. Consider disconnecting to fully experience the camp, immerse yourself in the wonderful natural world and the cycle of shared prayer to grow and nourish your family.
Dress modestly, reflecting Orthodox values. Attire for services should be the same as your local parish. Men, please avoid shorts in church. Head coverings and dresses/skirts are welcome for women, but not required. Avoid political, weapon-related, or off-color graphics.
Prayers & Liturgy:
Daily prayers and services form the foundation of our week. Full participation enriches everyone.
We will celebrate Divine Liturgy on Thursday. Get a blessing from your priest if planning to receive communion.
Services will be conducted with the blessings of the Orthodox Church in America and follow the new calendar.
Regulations & Safety:
Safety is our priority. Sky Camp has regulations, and our sponsoring jurisdiction has additional requirements. Every individual in your family over 18 will need to complete before arriving at the camp. If you've not previously completed a background check for the camp and have not received a link, please let us know.
Child Supervision: Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising children. Children may not go to the lake without adult supervision. We will provide a release form at check-in that you will need to sign.
Fire Safety: Absolutely no smoking anywhere on camp property. Sky Camp has a fire contingency plan, and evacuation maps will be posted. Please notify organizers if you leave campgrounds for any reason.
